Over the last few months, as Fingerprint Financial Planning has continued to grow, we have brought you news of the latest additions to our team.
This month, in what we anticipate being the final instalment in our ‘Meet the team’ series (for now), we welcome the latest members of our mortgage team, Mortgage Adviser Louise, and Mortgage Administrator Sam.
Let’s meet them.
Years of experience in mortgages and financial services
Adviser Louise has been helping clients for over 12 years. Having previously specialised in mortgages for the self-employed, she has worked in many markets including the London market, and helping to arrange mortgages for overseas borrowers.
Louise won a Best Adviser award at the national industry awards ceremony (“the Oscars of the mortgage industry”) in 2018.
“It was nerve-wracking,” Louise says of the process. “There was a panel made up of representatives from the five big lenders. I was quizzed on my knowledge and took Trust Pilot reviews along with me. I was really thrilled and proud to win, and the black-tie dinner was great too!”
But that’s not Louise’s favourite part of the job. “The thing I like best,” she says, “is helping first-time buyers. Finding solutions and solving the problems that other advisers struggle with. I like to build long-term relationships with my clients.”
Sam joins Fingerprint from a family-run broker where she was working on a part-time basis. Sam enjoys helping clients and is looking forward to the opportunity to develop and progress, becoming more confident in her role.
“Everyone’s been so friendly and supportive,” she says of her first weeks at Fingerprint.
“There’s a definite warmth here and no competitiveness. Everyone’s striving to be the best they can be, but everyone’s pulling in the same direction.”
Louise agrees: “Everyone’s been so helpful, and I couldn’t have asked for more from anyone.”
And outside of work?
Louise has a lifelong love of horses. Growing up with her nan and grandad, Louise’s auntie had three horses. Her younger sister still has a horse, as does a friend, affording her plenty of opportunities for horse cuddling and helping out.
As well as spending time in the gym, Louise enjoys outdoor activities of any kind.
‘I’m outdoorsy. I don’t like to be inside so I’m out walking a lot. There are plenty of beautiful coastal walks close to where I live.”
Sam also enjoys keeping active. She has been boxing for over three years and recently took up kickboxing too. Over an ideal weekend, you’ll find Sam spending time with family and friends, eating and drinking, or else finding new places to walk the dog with her two children.
What are you most passionate about?
“Saving the planet, and animals,” says Louise.
“I love watching David Attenborough. I think he’s done so much to bring these big issues – of global warming and plastic pollution – to the world’s attention. But we could still do more. It’s about the little things and how they add up.
“If every individual tried that little bit harder the difference would be huge, but I really believe at the moment that we’re just not doing enough.”
Sam says: “I’m passionate about making other people happy. Whether that’s family and friends or the clients I help as I progress with my career here at Fingerprint.”
