Back in January, we introduced you to Fingerprint Financial Planning’s charity partner for this year.
My Shining Star is a local organisation doing amazing work for children with cancer and their parents.
In February 2022 alone the charity has supported three bereaved families, made a gift to Queen Elizabeth hospital’s Tiger Ward for teenage cancer patients, and helped a family to purchase a stairlift for their son while he undergoes palliative care.
As our charity partner, we will be raising money for this amazing cause all year.

Jon’s marathon effort
Fingerprint Financial Planning’s own mortgage sales manager, Jon Lock, is due to compete in his first-ever marathon on 10 April. Jon is running the Brighton Marathon in aid of My Shining Star and has raised more than £1,100 so far.
“I am training hard,” Jon says on his JustGiving page, “but am well out of my comfort zone, so please donate what you can to help keep me motivated and change the lives of children suffering from cancer.”
In May, Jon also plans to compete in a Spartan race – an obstacle course-based race originating in America.
Your generosity is helping My Shining Star and the friends and family you refer to us
In January, we explained how you could help support My Shining Star through Fingerprint Financial Planning’s “Refer a Friend” scheme.
If you recommend Fingerprint Financial Planning to a friend who later becomes a client, we will give you a £50 voucher for your first referral, and a further £100 for every subsequent referral thereafter, to say thank you.
You’re more than welcome to keep this gift for yourself. If, however, you decide to donate it to My Shining Star, Fingerprint Financial Planning will match your generous donation, effectively doubling the amount this incredible charity receives.
Since we launched this extra incentive, we’re delighted to report that 100% of those receiving the voucher have opted to support our charity partner.
In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the shocking images that are dominating our television screens currently, we are opening up our charity incentive to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
If you would like to refer a friend to us, you now have the option to keep your £50 voucher or donate it, either to My Shining Star or the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

The Fingerprint Financial Planning team is preparing for its charity quiz night
The whole Fingerprint team are currently swotting up on their general knowledge in preparation for our charity quiz night.
The team quiz will be held on 17 March. Each player will pay £5, with all money raised going to My Shining Star.
