It’s “In the Spotlight” time again in your latest Fingerprint Financial Planning team update.
This month, we’d like to introduce you to mortgage administrator Millie Simpson as well as welcome our two newest recruits – Jack and Joseph – to the team.
First off, let’s speak to Millie.
In the Spotlight
Job title: Mortgage administrator
Experience: 3 years’ experience in mortgage administration and general administrative tasks assisting the in-house advisors
In brief: Outside of Fingerprint, Millie is a keen singer with a musical family. She also loves swimming. In work, Millie uses her love of talking (“I could win an Olympic medal at it… I don’t stop!) to build warm relationships with her clients and especially loves sharing good news.
Millie, what attracted you to the mortgage industry?
I wanted to learn more about the property market and the financial industry as a whole.
Being part of our clients’ house purchases is a bonus and I find it really exciting. To know that we have a direct influence on our clients’ finances is really motivating.
What do you like most about your job?
Definitely building relationships with our clients. I really like knowing that my job is helping people to either purchase their first home or find the best mortgage deal. I love making the process as straightforward as possible!
I also love chatting with our clients. Speaking to long-standing clients and building relationships is great. But you also can’t beat making the completion call to congratulate a first-time buyer on their new home purchase!
Can you give an example of a client you have really helped recently?
One of our recent cases was declined due to a down valuation.
I immediately called the clients and discussed each of the home improvements they had completed on their property in the last five years.
With this information, I was able to complete an appeal and the valuation has now been signed off and the offer issued.
By overturning this decline, I helped our clients to secure the initial rate the adviser had discussed with them (saving them a lot of money considering the rising rates in the market currently!).
What does your day-to-day role look like in the office and how do you help your clients?
I liaise with different lenders, estate agents, and solicitors every day to chase our client’s mortgage applications through to completion.
My main job is making sure our client is happy and kept up to date on the progress of their case. I’m here to make sure it’s as smooth sailing as possible.
I also assist my adviser with general administrative tasks where I can.
Fingerprint also welcomes its two newest recruits
This month, the Fingerprint family has grown by two as we welcome IFA administrator Jack Harris and financial adviser Joseph Homes.
Jack will be liaising with our advisers and clients to provide updates to all parties and keep track of progress. Jack describes being offered his job at Fingerprint as the proudest moment of his career so far.
“It was over a year’s worth of work before I got my offer [with Fingerprint]. It’s the first time I have had a clear career trajectory and been proud to be associated with an organisation,” Jack says.
Joseph, meanwhile, comes to Fingerprint with 11 years of experience in the industry. “I spent the early years of my career as a paraplanner, working mainly in small, family-owned firms,” says Joseph. “I’m really excited to begin this new stage of my career at such a great firm.”
We welcome Jack and Joseph to the Fingerprint team and know that you will join us in wishing them both well for their careers with us.
